Talented photographer Alex Robciuc has always been inspired by hiking and nature, so much so capturing his outdoor experiences has become one of his favorite passions to pursue.
Robciuc has traveled to many destinations around the world, including the Maramures, a small county tucked away in Transylvania, Romania. Here, Alex discovered some of his favorite landscapes, full of tranquility and pristine beauty.
Robciuc considers himself a traditional landscape photographer, although there is nothing traditional nor mundane about the amazing photos he managed to capture while hiking through the Transylvanian Mountains.
Robciuc enjoys using the natural beauty of early morning and evening light to highlight his photos. He woke up at 5AM in order to capture the photos you see here.
Robciuc writes on Bored Panda, “I like to use the rich morning and evening light for a dramatic effect. Waking up at 5 AM, searching for a view-point, waiting for the perfect light and finding an outstanding element in the landscape around me – that’s my perfect recipe for transposing my feelings and my mood into a simple photo.”
The Transylvanian Mountains, also known as Carpathian Mountains, are well known for their beauty. Not only is the area breathtaking to look at, but also it is ripe with fascinating history. Several groups of distinct communities have called Transylvanian home over the years.
Standing as the second largest mountain range in all of Europe, the Transylvanian Mountains are packed with many different animals and plant species.
There are also a number of popular tourist destinations in the area, including Bran Castle, also referred to as Dracula’s Castle, and the medieval cities of Alba lull, Cluj-Napocca, Sibiu, and more.
According to a 2002 census, Transylvania’s population consisted of 7,221,733 people.
Robciuc’s work is not reserved to landscape photography; he also creates abstract and digital art, as well as personal portraits. Check out more of his stunning photographs on his website.
