Back in May at Fyling Hall Riding School in Robin Hood’s Bay, North Yorkshire, England, a rather magnificent foal was born with what looks like a truly spectacular work of art on its body. Aptly named Da Vinci, he dons a perfect self-portrait in the form of white markings across his left side. While we know it isn’t technically a birthmark, he is certain sporting a rather beautiful picture of what looks to be himself. It’s basically the opposite of a shadow, and it’s made him somewhat of a minor celebrity.
So far, the little horse seems utterly unaware that he’s being followed by a silhouette of himself. Or, perhaps its his guardian angel in disguise.
Nicknamed Vinny for short, his owner, Wendy Bulmer, says she was unaware that his mom was pregnant when she first purchased her, saying, “I wasn’t very happy at first but he is so friendly and the kids love him.”
“The chestnut horses have irregular patches but they don’t normally make something as recognizable. He’s even got a little white heart shape on his bottom as well,” she added.
