The Wild Adventures Of A Man And His Dog In Majestic Nature Photos

Dogs make the very best travel companions; just ask John Stortz and his four-legged friend named Wolf. John describes himself on Instagram as, “Dude and dog bumbling around the west.” What follows is a collection of incredible photos of a man and his beautiful dog traveling all around the western United States.

Two-years ago, when John Stortz adopted Wolf from a shelter he had no idea where his new four-legged friend would take him, nor did Wolf know where John would take him!

Flash-forward to the present day, and the team has been to all sorts of awesome locations throughout the United States. Tag along on some of their adventures browsing through the photos below.

Bryce Canyon, Utah

Wolfgang, Wolf for short, makes an awesome travel partner. While the pair is out enjoying their adventures, John chooses just the right location for each picture, and places his gorgeous, and rather wolf-like, white dog at the center of the picture. Wolf makes each image that much more breathtaking, adding a real mystical quality to every shot.

Bonneville Salt Flats, Utah

John named his dog Wolfgang, and since the dog literally looks like a gorgeous white wolf, the nickname ‘Wolf’ is incredibly fitting.

Anza-Borrego, California

With over 36,000 followers on Instagram, it’s clear a lot of people love the images of Wolf. It’s easy to see why, every image is so inspirational and unique, it’s only a picture and yet it evokes memories and feelings.

John is a man of many talents. When he is not out on adventures with Wolf taking stellar photography, John spends his time creating excellent illustrations. His drawings are deep, both physically and symbolically.

John enjoys drawing all different types of subjects, although his love for nature influences a great deal of his work, as does his best buddy Wolf.

This picture reminds me of a scene from the Twilight movie series.

Wolf is so beautiful; he truly makes this picture with his gracefully galloping body floating down what is now clearly a path, towards some unknown shadow in the distance.

Just think, if John had never adopted Wolf from a shelter two years ago, he would be missing out on so many awesome adventures with the best pup in the pack. Adopting animals is good for everyone, if you are in the market for a new pet you should always at least consider looking into local shelters–okay, that’s my little soapbox plug for the day!

Brooklyn, New York

Now that’s some true puppy love…
